Mary Ann Boyd, 95, of Maxwell, Iowa, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at her home.

Mary was born April 13, 1928, at McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest H. and Mary Evelyn (Eley) Gebhardt. Mary graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1946 and received a bachelor's degree from Drake University. Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth F. Boyd on July 18, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa. Kenneth preceded Mary in death in 1999. Mary taught fifth and sixth grade for 18 years at Bondurant Farrar School.

Mary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ankeny, Iowa. Mary enjoyed genealogy, gardening, and carpentry work. She was a skilled pianist and artist. Mary will be remembered for her love and devotion to and for her family.

Mary is survived by two sons: Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Boyd of Maxwell, Michael (Pamela) Boyd of Maxwell; two daughters: Kathy (Lynn) Tischler of Portland, Oregon, Rebecka (Patrick) Bishop of Maxwell, a son-in-law: Rick Williams of Marysville, Washington; Twenty-four grandchildren, and forty-seven great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter: Elizabeth Williams; a daughter-in-law: RexAnn Boyd; and a great-grandson: Walter Schilaty.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Holy Cross Cemetery near Maxwell, Iowa.
