Mary Christina "Chris" Miller passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021, in New Haven, MO. Chris was born at home in Zookspur, IA, on May 5, 1934, the second daughter of Emilio and Mary Albertina Santi. On November 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to William Dean Miller. Two daughters were born from this union, Laura Maria and Lisa Marie. Chris worked as a telephone operator and later as a receptionist for Northwestern Bell for 30 years. After retiring, Chris ran an in-home daycare for several years, caring for many children, and loving them as if they were hers. When her husband retired in 1999, they moved to a lovely home in Leslie, MO; a country setting with many ponds nearby for fishing. Chris' greatest joy was being with her family, and she was happiest when they were all together. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Laura Ameiss, of Washington, MO, and Lisa (Doug) Pratt of Nevada, IA, and her three grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure, Olivia (Desirae) Reed of St. Louis, MO, Malia Pratt of Iowa City, IA, and Adam Pratt, of Nevada, IA. Also left behind are a host of extended family members and some dear friends. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Zita Engel, and her beloved husband of more than 42 years, Bill. At her request, no services will be held.
