Mary Lynn Moore, 60 of Nevada, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Story Medical in Nevada.

Mary was born October 15, 1963, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of William George Barr and Lela Mae Kolbus. She attended South Hamilton High School and graduated from Gilbert High School in 1982. Mary was united in marriage to Dennis Moore on December 31, 1982, at the First United Methodist Church in Ames. They were inseparable and did everything together.

Mary was a paranormal investigator with Paranormal Endeavors for more than ten years. She enjoyed collecting crystals, collecting dolls, Avon and making jewelry. Mary loved all animals, especially her cats. She was a full-time grandma and loved to be with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dennis of Nevada; her son, Douglas Moore; her daughter, Mindee (Zack) Sly; her grandchildren, Maycee, Olivia, Zayden and Everlie; her brothers, Carl Barr and George Barr; her sister, Catherine Barr; her in-laws, Mike Moore Sr., John (Rachel) Moore, Jodie (Dana) Casey, Robert Moore, and Jo (David) Culpepper; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, William Rechkemmer and Steven Douglas Barr.

Mary's funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Family will greet friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Berlin Jackson Township Cemetery near Owasa, Iowa.
