Mary Lee Wheat, 84 of Nevada, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Mary Lee was born January 3, 1940, in Henderson, AR, the daughter of Roy Woodrow and Opal Irene (Moody) Wheat. She graduated from Colo High School in 1957, and attended a trade school (ERTI) in Omaha, NE. Mary Lee worked in the accounting department at Donnelly Marketing in Nevada and retired from the National Farmers Organization (NFO) in 2001.

Mary Lee enjoyed traveling and visiting her family. She loved to attend activities that her nieces and nephews were involved in. Mary Lee will be remembered as a wonderful caretaker for her family and of others.

Mary Lee is survived by her brother, Roy Darrel Wheat of Nevada; her nephew Ron Wheat; her nieces Sonja (Gary) Plunkett, Rhonda (Kurt) Haun, Candy (Mike) Gaedke, and Dorene (Greg) Cory; 13 great nieces and nephews; and 11 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law Sharon Wheat.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada with Pastor Adrian McMullen officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest at a later date at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.
