Max Boyd Klinger, age 86, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Windsor Manor in Nevada. Born on August 13, 1939, in Corydon, Iowa, Max was the beloved son of Charlie Frank and Eva Merle (Osborn) Klinger. He grew up in Corydon and graduated from Corydon High School in 1957.
On June 3, 1958, Max married the love of his life, Marilyn Sue McIntire, in Corydon, Iowa. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories throughout their 67 years of marriage.
Max devoted much of his career to 3M, where his talent, innovation, and leadership led him to create the Industrial Vehicle Center. He took immense pride in his work and retired after 26 years of dedicated service. Max was a member of the Nevada First United Methodist Church and the Coachman Owner's Association, where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Goodwrench" for his remarkable ability to fix almost anything.
A true car enthusiast, Max's love for automobiles was evident in the meticulous care he gave to every vehicle he owned—always ensuring they were spotless and well-maintained. He found joy in camping and spending time outdoors, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Max is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, of Nevada; his sons, Mark (Marian) Klinger of Roland and Randy (Susan) Klinger of Dixon, Illinois; and his treasured grandchildren: Christina (Jason) Benoit and their son Andrew; Michelle Norris and her children, Kayden, Kailee, and Kacee; Sara (Kurtis) Blankenship and their children, Henry and Deborah; Malissa (Matt) Grimsley and their children, Maddox, Maverick, and Macey; and Michael (Kylie) Klinger, who are expecting their first child. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Frank and Eva Merle Klinger.
In accordance with Max's wishes, he has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at **NOTE LOCATION CHANGE** Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy in Nevada. Max will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center, Iowa.
Max Klinger will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generosity, his skillful hands, and his kind and gentle spirit. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
