Merle Duane Sandrock, 82 of Nevada, died Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home in Nevada. Merle was born February 18, 1939, in Nevada, the son of Carl John and Vera Berneice (Hitchings) Sandrock. He graduated from Nevada High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving four years. Merle worked for the USDA Lab in Ames for over 30 years. He enjoyed collecting plates and coins. Merle is survived by his sisters, Janice Burton of Nevada and Lana Sandrock of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Doug Sandrock. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Inurnment will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
