Michael Roy Jennings, 58 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mike was born April 18, 1964, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Ronald Guy and Judith (Gibbs) Jennings. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1983 and had worked the last 10 years at Vermeer as an assembler. Mike loved to be outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed Corvettes and took pride in his own 2004 model. More than anything, he loved being a grandpa.

Mike is survived by his son, Calvin Jennings (Kailyn Williams) of Boone; his granddaughter, Isabella Jennings; his brother, Scott Jennings of Ames; and his sister, Ronda (John) Biery of Ames. He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his uncles, Vic Gibbs, and Terry Jennings; his aunts, Earline Sydnes and Linda Howlett; and his beloved dog, Red.

A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge.
