Mildred "Kay"
Seaboch
December 28, 1945 – January 20, 2023
Mildred "Kay" Seaboch, 77 of Nevada, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Kay was born December 28, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Orris Burton and Opal Luella (Olson) Knutson. On September 2, 1962, she was united in marriage to Michael David Seaboch in Webster City. In September of 2022, Michael and Kay celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by family.
While raising her family in Nevada, Kay worked for Donnelly's in Nevada and Sundstrand in Ames. Later in life, when Mike and Kay relocated to Lincoln, NE, Kay started an in-home daycare for infants only, caring for over 50 babies during that time. She became affectionately known as the Baby Whisperer to those families as well as her own family.
Kay enjoyed antiquing with Michael, reading, and making jewelry. When Mike and Kay retired 11 years ago, they moved back to Nevada. This allowed Kay to provide daycare for her granddaughter and three great-grandsons for the last 7 years. Something she cherished dearly as did her family.
Kay is survived by her husband, Michael of Nevada; her children, Lisa McCoy of Nevada, Melissa Seaboch of Bountiful, UT, and Christopher (Molly) Seaboch of Nevada; her grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) McCoy, Brandy (Dustin) Emerson, Ben Schaefer, Isaiah Schaefer, Will Schaefer and Katelyn Seaboch; and her great-grandchildren, Micah, Tatum, Alice, Maverick and Cooper.
A Celebration of Kay's life will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Senior Center (1231 6th St.) in Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family. Memorial donations will be collected and donated to charities supporting infants and children in Kay's honor.
Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.rasmussonfh.com
