MAXWELL-Nelland F. Sesker, 80, of Maxwell died Saturday July 8, 2006 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA.
Nelland was born July 26, 1925 on a farm near Kelley, Iowa. He attended Garden Prairie Country School and Napier High School. Nelland served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Lofberg in the Pacific.
He was united in marriage to Inez Louise Nelson on January 27, 1945 in Boone, IA. They farmed near Cambridge and Maxwell until retiring in 1993 at which time they moved into Maxwell. He was a member of the Loring United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Newton Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Inez; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Judy Sesker of Maxwell and Steve Sesker and Mary Peterson of Des Moines; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Hubert Vespestad of Maxwell; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hubert Sesker of Scranton and Ralph Sesker of Ontario, OR; two sisters, Anita Miller of Ankeny and Marlene Sealine of Peoria, IL. Nelland was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at the Loring United Methodist Church in rural Maxwell on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment at Loring Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell on Wednesday, July 12th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames and to the American Heart Association.
