Newton Scott, 84 of Colo, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his home in Colo. Newton Conrad Scott was born on October 7, 1936 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Newton Cyrus and Gladys (Conrad) Scott. He graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1955. He worked for Northwestern Bell (through all the various name changes) for 42 years, retiring in 1998. Newton (Scotty) married Sharon Roberts on June 2, 1957. They had 64 happy years together. They enjoyed going to Meskwaki and playing slot machines and traveling to Hawaii and Arizona. He is survived by his wife Sharon and their children Thomas of Colo, Elizabeth (Damon) of Nevada, IA, Doug (Jae) of Honolulu, HI and Steven (Christine) of Warrensburg, MO; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister Beatta of Alabama and many nieces and nephews.
