Norma Jean Mack, 66, of Nevada, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Norma was born February 24, 1950, in LeMars, Iowa to Paul and Carol Groeneweg. She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1968 and attended Central College in Pella for three years. Norma was united in marriage to Richard Mack on September 25, 1971, in Rock Valley, Iowa. She was a devoted member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada and enjoyed camping and hiking, traveling, gardening, fishing and reading. Norma is survived by her husband, Rich of Nevada; her son, Michael Mack (Amanda Kalk) of Colo; her daughter, Laura (Jim) Cole of Adel; her granddaughters: Brianna and Melanie Cole; her brother, Wayne (Judy) Groeneweg of Rock Valley; her sisters: Marlene (Tom) Van Holland of Rock Valley and Karen (Joe) Kragt of Bella Vista, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joel Groeneweg. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Park Rapids, MN.
