Norma Colleen Searcy 87, of Nevada died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Norma was born August 3, 1935, in Grundy County, Missouri. She graduated from Spickard High School and was united in marriage to Nova William Searcy on July 16, 1955, in St. Joseph, MO. Norma worked for Bournes for 30 years and Kmart for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and traveling in their camper. Norma spent many years babysitting her grandkids.

Norma is survived by her children: Mary (Bruce) Oppedal of Nevada, Nova Eugene (Phyllis) Searcy of State Center, Michael Lynn Searcy of Ames and Jeffrey Wayne Searcy of Boone; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Ernest Coon; and her sisters, Doris Golden and Dorothy Cox.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Private family burial will be at the Colo Cemetery in Colo.
