Norman Eugene Huntrods, 79, of Nevada, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019, at his home near Nevada. Norm was born November 15, 1939, the son of Vernon Edwin and Pearl Vivian (Chitty) Huntrods. He graduated from Fernald High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Betty Jean Otto on February 17, 1960, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Norm served in the Air National Guard and had worked as a tool and dye maker for Bourne's and Accumold, retiring in 2004. He also farmed outside Nevada for many years on the family farm. Norm enjoyed watching sports, fishing and collecting toy tractors, Budweiser steins and coins. Norm is survived by his wife, Betty of Nevada; his sons: Scott Huntrods of Colo and Eric (Lisa) Huntrods of Peoria, AZ; his grandchildren: Heather Huntrods and Dustin (Tiffany) Scott; his step-granddaughter, Savannah Sourp; three great-grandchildren: Kalina, Rozlynn and Leo; and his siblings: Judy (John) Selheim of Castle Rock, CO, Steve Huntrods of Nevada, Stan Huntrods of Nevada and Saundra Huntrods of Huxley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norm has been cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
