Keesee Paul Samson, 79 of Nevada, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at his home in Nevada.
Paul was born November 13, 1944, in Ames, IA the son of Keesee Samson and Doris Marie VanSickle. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1962, and was united in marriage to Sandra Rae Mooty on December 15, 1972, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Paul worked for Donnelley Marketing for 26 years and 15 years for Factory Motor Parts.
Paul loved woodworking projects and enjoyed morel mushrooms. Every year, he looked forward to attending the Iowa State Fair. Paul cherished the time he got to spend with family, especially the Sunday dinners with everyone. He will be remembered as the voice of reason in the family; any problem, big or small, he would always know what to do.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sandra Samson of Nevada, IA; his sons, Mike (Michelle) Samson of Redlands, CA, Doug (Roomy) Samson of Henderson, NV, Brian Samson of Loma Linda, CA and Brad (Julie) Samson of Nevada, IA; his daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Johnson of Nevada, IA; six grandchildren, KC, Noah, Keegan, Gaby, Nash and Blake; one great-granddaughter, Eliana; and his brothers, Roger (Deb) Samson of Nevada, IA and Allan (Jeannie) Samson of Loveland, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Keesee and Doris Samson; and a brother, Van Samson.
A celebration of Paul's life will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada.
