Paul William Wheeland, 51 of Zearing, died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of injuries sustained in a car accident. Paul was born May 28, 1971, in Ames, Iowa the son of Frederick Wallace Wheeland III and Veronica Jeanne Jones. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1989 and attended Iowa State University. On March 30, 2019, Paul was united in marriage to Kristen Nicole Vinzant in Nevada. He was working at Danfoss in Ames and in his free time he enjoyed fishing and thrifting. In his early years, Paul played pool and bowled. Nothing would make him smile more than spending time with his grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife, Kristen of Zearing; his mother, Veronica of Zearing; his children: Paul Jr., Alex, Shelby (Lenae), MadaLinn, Ross (Tori) and Paiten (Logan); his grandchildren: Brogan, Bryson, Thayer, Kayden and papa's little princess, Collins; his sister, Allison; his niece, Jasmine; along with several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Dakins Community Center (105 E. Main Street) in Zearing. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, also at Dakins Community Center.
