Mary Pauline (Nighsonger) Korell, age 103 of Nevada, passed away Friday,

July 11, 2025, at Accura Healthcare of Ames.

The visitation will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at Rasmusson-

Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A graveside service

will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery

(1026 1 st Street) in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating.

Pauline was born March 19, 1922, on a farm outside of Fernald, the

daughter of Paul and Carrie Ingersen Nighsonger. She attended Fernald

School and farmed south of Nevada before moving to town. Pauline

worked 11 years for the State Forest Nursery as a lead foreman. She

spent 43 years with her significant other, Lester Lawson.

Pauline enjoyed flowers and spending time outside doing yardwork and

gardening. She loved animals, especially her German Shepherd, Kia.

Pauline is survived by her significant other, Les Lawson of Nevada; and her

daughter, Judy McKinney of Huxley. She was preceded in death by her

parents; her son, Shawn Korell in 2022; her brothers, Paul Nighsonger

(infancy) and Floyd Nighsonger; and her beloved Bichon, Cindi Lu.

Memorials may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter in memory of

Pauline.
