Pauline M. Silke was born on June 28, 1925, to Peter and Emma Johannsen in rural Guthrie County.
In 1935, Pauline and her family moved to a farm near Jamaica, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from Jamaica High School in 1943. She continued her education at the America Institute of Business (AIB) i n Des Moines. She worked for many years doing office work and bookkeeping. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Silke. They were blessed with two children, Janet Westrum and James Silke.
Pauline was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for forty years, serving St. Paul's Lutheran Church in many areas. Later her membership was transferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Silke, daughter, Janet Westrum, and son, James Silke of Boone; three grandchildren, Jonathan Silke and Nathan Westrum of Boone and Emily Westrum of Ankeny, Iowa.
Pauline will be remembered for her faith and the love of her family and friends.
