Obituary

Quintin Desierto, 78, of Nevada, Iowa died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Quintin was born August 21, 1934, in the Philippines, the son the Manuel and Isabel (Galindez) Desierto. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Zulueta on March 25, 1970. Qunitin had lived in the Nevada area for nine years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada. He enjoyed gardening, reading and sharing stories. Quintin never complained and was always smiling. He had a very strong faith and was committed to God. Quintin is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Nevada; his daughters, Nathalia (Jerry) Bigcas of the Philippines, Luzviminda (Dale) Swanson of Nevada, and Ardysjoy (Dexter) Uy of the Philippines; six grandchildren; his brother, Daniel Dezierto of the Philippines, his sisters, Lily of Canada, Estelita of the Philippines, Pacita of the Philippines, Jovita of Scotland and Patty of the Philippines. He was preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters, Diane Michelle and Chameck; and one brother, Aurelio. Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada with Pastor David Lincoln officiating. Visitation and fellowship will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to fund Bibles for the Philippines. Bacon Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Nevada are handling arrangements.
