Randy R. "Bear" Smith, 67 of Collins, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at his home near Collins. Randy was born June 24, 1952, in Ames, Iowa the son of Donald Leslie and Doris Lahoma (McElwee) Smith. He graduated from Collins High School in 1970 and married Marlene Marie Woodley, originally of Ames, on January 29, 1988, in Nevada. Randy farmed all his life with his dad and took over the family farm after his dad retired. Randy is survived by his wife, Marlene of Collins; his sons: Cody and Ryan of Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Daylis and Doug. A private family graveside service will be at Collins Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.
