Randy J. Dodd, 65, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Ames, Iowa at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Randy was born November 13, 1954 in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Derald and Wynetta (Fines) Dodd. He graduated from Nevada High School and served in the Army in Germany. Randy was united in marriage to Barbara Schaefer on August 14, 1976 in Charlotte, Iowa. Randy worked for the City of Nevada for many years. He was a member of the American Legion. Randy was known for his woodworking skills and enjoyed working in his shop and camping. Randy is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Nevada, Iowa; two daughters: Kedra (Matthew) Hamilton of Nevada, Iowa, Shannon Dodd of Nevada, Iowa; five grandchildren: Kaelan, Colyn, Kaleigh, Carter, Lanie; and two brothers: Harold (Bonnie) Dodd of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, and Rick (Lauri) Dodd of Colo, Iowa. Randy was preceded in by his parents, Derald and Wynetta Dodd. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be to the Activity Fund at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
