Regina Anntoinette Donata, 78, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, at MercyOne in Des Moines. Regina was born September 6, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Anthony Michael and Frances (Byrd) Donata. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Florida and earned her bachelor's degree from Barry College in Miami. Regina taught high school English, speech and drama for the Detroit Public Schools in Michigan before going to work for Michigan Claims and General Motors. Eventually, she started her own business taking care of senior citizens. Regina enjoyed horses and gardening. Regina is survived by her sister, Fran (Marty) Pettit of Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her partner, Rebecca Houghton who died in 2019. Regina has been cremated and no services are planned.
