Richard "Dick" Charles Walker, age 94 of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his beloved farm where he spent his entire life. Born in rural Story County, Iowa, on February 1, 1932, Dick was the son of Charles James and Jessie Marie (Dunahoo) Walker. He graduated from Shipley High School in 1950 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with honor. Following his discharge, Dick returned home to the family farm near Cambridge, dedicating his life to farming and raising livestock.  He worked for John Deere in Ankeny, retiring after 30 years.

On July 30, 1954, Dick married Donna Joy Heusinkveld in Marshalltown, beginning a partnership that spanned more than seven decades. Dick found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and pitching horseshoes, activities that brought him happiness and relaxation.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Donna of Cambridge; his son, Randy (Cristy) Walker of Nevada; his daughter, Dee (George) Gibbs of Maxwell; his grandchildren, Renae, Justin, Whitney, Clint, Logan (Maddie), and Luke; and his great-granddaughter, Braelynn. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Sonny Lee Walker; and his brothers, Harlan and Robert.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy, in Nevada. His funeral service and interment at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery will be held privately. Donations may be made to the family for their use to be determined.
