Robert "Bob" Eugene Olson, 89 of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Windsor Manor in Nevada.

Bob was born June 24, 1934, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Alexander Theodore Donald "Don" and Zelma (Post) Olson. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1952 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving until his honorable discharge in 1956. On November 16, 1956, he was united in marriage to Faye Johnson at the Nevada First United Methodist Church. In his early years, Bob worked for Post & Olson Pumps and Water Systems before going to work for Donnelley Marketing in Nevada, where he eventually retired.

Bob was member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and a 50-year member of the Nevada Masonic Lodge #99. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his Cessna 150 & 172 and his Ercoupe. Bob always looked forward to the Oshkosh Air Show and flying his radio-controlled planes.

Bob is survived by his son, Robin A. Olson of Sioux City; his daughter, Diane E. Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; and his brothers, Karl (Tressa) Olson and Dave (Shirley) Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his granddaughter, Kindra Olson; and his brother, Don Olson.

A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery (1026 1st Street) in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in memory of Bob.
