Ronald James Weuve, 83 of Nevada, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Ron was born August 20, 1938, to Frederick Arnold and Dorothy Marie (Greiner) Weuve. He graduated from Fernald High School in 1956, then enlisted in the Army Air Guard. On April 16, 1960, Ron was united in marriage to Delores Mae Ogden at the First Christian Church in Nevada.
Ron farmed for many years outside Nevada and enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball. He was a great bowler, earning a spot in the Bowling Hall of Fame. Ron traveled to many national bowling tournaments. He was an avid fan of the Iowa State Cyclones, holding season tickets for many years. He spent numerous winters at his condo in Arizona. Ron was dedicated to his health, always making time to go to the gym.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Kim (Scott) Cochran and Kristie (Jeff) Stensland; his grandchildren, Misty (Jon) Brandt, Zachery (Sheyenne) Stensland and Travis (Cailey) Stensland; and his great-grandchildren: Sydney, Aiden, Brantley, Bryleigh, Brekken, Branson, Conner and Braxlee (coming soon). He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Private burial will at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames in memory of Ron.
