Ross Allyn
Weuve
November 21, 1930 – January 2, 2026
Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather Ross A. Weuve passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. Born on November 21, 1930, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was a devoted husband to Naomi (Jorgensen), who predeceased him, and a loving father to Gary, Kim, and Kevin.
Ross was hard-working and dedicated. As a lifelong farmer in and around the State Center, Iowa, area, he grew corn and soybeans while raising cattle and hogs. He was highly successful, managing to survive years of challenging financial circumstances and times of drought. While farming was his first love, he also built houses for Buck Construction in Ames, Iowa. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions, the Iowa State Cyclones, his love of cowboy movies, his favorite actor, John Wayne, and fishing the lakes of Minnesota.
Though Ross may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to be honored for his long years. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His fellow residents at the Indian Creek Assisted Living Center, who enjoyed sharing time with him in the sunroom before dinner, referred to him as a great guy.
A private graveside service and burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in State Center, Iowa.
Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ross. Condolences may be shared online with the family at www.rasmussonfh.com
