MAXWELL - Russell Vernon Link, 85, of Maxwell died February 25, 2005 at the Mill Pond Care Center in Ankeny. Russell was born at the family home May 20, 1919 near Maxwell, Iowa the son of Fred and Margaret (Poorbaugh) Link. He graduated from Farrar High School in 1938. Russell was united in marriage to Ruth Carver in February 26, 1943. She preceded him in death March 1, 1990. He was affiliated with the Farrar United Methodist Church and was a former "Texas Snowbird." Russell was a farmer and enjoyed watching basketball and growing sweet corn. Russell is survived by 2 sons: Roger (Donita) Link of Maxwell, David (Darlene) of Davenport; a daughter: Linda (Joe) Peppers of Ankeny; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Mary Winslow of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Link, and a brother, Richard Link.
