Ruth Ann Wilson, 90 of Nevada, formerly of Colo, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines following complications of a hip fracture.

Ruth was born September 5, 1933, in Slater, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Ann (Fjelland) Nervig. She graduated from Slater High School in 1951 and was united in marriage to Donald "Bud" Lee Wilson on June 12, 1953, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.

Ruth was a devoted member of the Colo United Methodist Church, helping with countless dinners and events. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Ruth enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, and was an avid reader, reading over 100 books a year. She was a fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and loved to keep up with all her friends and family on Facebook. For many years, Ruth and Bud would attend country jams. Ruth will be fondly remembered for her wonderful cream pies, apple pies, kringla and cinnamon rolls.

Ruth is survived by her children, Donna (Randy) Flack of Ankeny, John (Vickie) Wilson of Colo and Jeff (Yolanda) Wilson of Ankeny; her grandchildren: Derek (Allison) Flack, Adam (Trina) Flack, Renee (Stan) Gelfond, Jordan Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Nathan (Jamie) Wilson, Austin (Julia) Wilson, Kelly (Nick) Tonelli and Kristen Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Easton, Sawyer, Natalie, Tyler, Emma, Xander, Cooper, Ryker, Abram, Corwin, Sophia, Micah, Cameron and Asher; her sister, Jane Fideler of Slater and her sister-in-law, Mary Presnall of Ankeny.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud in 2021; her daughter, Patty Campbell in 2008; her brother, Francis Nervig, Jr.; and her sisters, Mary and Grace Nervig.

A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Ruth's funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Colo United Methodist Church (602 4th Street) in Colo with Pastor Amanda Gordon officiating. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at www.rasmussonfh.com, click on Ruth's photo then Tribute Wall. Interment will be at the Colo Cemetery in Colo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the use to be determined at a later date.
