Sarah Sylvina Borton, 98 of McCallsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Sarah was born September 24, 1921, in Hardin County, Iowa the daughter of Osmund and Ada (Wicks) Helgeland. She graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1939 and was united in marriage to Louis Chester Borton on November 7, 1945. Sarah worked many years for Fuller-Brush selling cleaning products. Sarah is survived by her daughter, Judy Burks of Ankeny; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters: Esther Plum of Fairfield and Sue Gould of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Connie Knapp; and two brothers: Osmund Helgeland Jr. and Gilbert Helgeland. A private family service will be held at the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
