Sarah Jane Heintz, 88, of Nevada, joined Her Lord on Thursday, February 3, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. She was born to Alfred and Mae (Cozzens) Hambly on July 9, 1933, in Colo, Iowa.
Jane, as she was best known, married Dean on November 5, 1954, in Ames, Iowa. Together, they raised three daughters on the farm originally in Cambridge. They then moved to Shipley followed by Rockwell. The family settled on the farm in Shipley, Iowa in 1967.
Jane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, cook, gardener, seamstress, and quilter.
She is survived by her husband Dean, daughters Carla (Robert) Alexander, Rhonda Deer, Deanna (Bud) Robey and grandchildren Anthony Alexander, Tawnya (Rich) Carnahan, Derek (Alicia) Deer, Melissa (Dan) Pelletier, Danielle (Brian) Schmitt and Allison (Michael) Roth. Her great grandchildren include Gabriella, Leo, Ethen, Owen, Connor, Caleb, Colby, Amaley, Kelcie and Brayden, that she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Marilyn and Martha; brothers Harlan, Allan, Norris and Carlton. Sisters-in-law Nete, Alma, Mary, Betty and brothers-in-law Max, Marion, Don and Wayne. Her son-in-law Marvin Deer and her best friend in life Joyce Jensen.
The family will be hosting a visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada from 2 pm – 4 pm. The funeral will be Monday, February 7, 2022, at Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th Street) in Nevada at 10:30 a.m. with graveside services and luncheon to follow.
Memorials can be made to the family which will be distributed to Jane's favorite philanthropies.
