Obituary

Sharon Kay Hunter, 77 of Nevada, died Monday, June 8, 2020, at her home in Nevada. Sharon was born March 24, 1943, the daughter of Clarence Inez and Florence Lavina (Flowers) Young. On April 18, 1959, she was united in marriage to Richard Earl Hunter in Nevada. Sharon worked for West Café, Bournes, Donnelly's Marketing and retired from Universal Harvester. She was an avid NASCAR and George Jones fan and in her spare time she enjoyed reading, camping, and fishing. Sharon is survived by her sons: Richard Hunter Jr., Larry Hunter, Lowell (Angela) Hunter and Shawn Hunter; her daughters, Cheryl Hunter and Julie (James) Nicholson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill (Joyce) Young and her sister, Ilo Hetrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Wayne Lee; her brothers: John, Fred, and Bob Young; and her sisters: Mary Wallingford, Libby Christenson, Dorothy Harry, and Leona Kohutanycz. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at the Evergreen Cemetery in rural Nevada. Memorial contributions may be made to Story County Conservation in memory of Sharon.
