Sheila Mae Cruse, 76 of Nevada, died Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her home in Nevada.

Sheila was born December 15, 1946, in Plover, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Ruth (Mason) Overmire. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1965 and was united in marriage to Russell Cruse later that year on September 10.

Sheila enjoyed being a Navy wife of Russell, going along wherever he was stationed. She was a member of the American Legion Axillary in Nevada, serving as past president. Sheila dedicated her life to her family.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Russell of Nevada; her son, Russell Jr. (Heidi) of Urbandale; her daughter, Paula Sue (James) Gombio of Oahu, HI; her brother, Daniel Overmire of Spanaway, WA; her sisters: Sandra Ferwalt of Lee's Summit, MO, Debra (Ken) Thompson of McCallsburg, and Shari (Terry) Adams of Nevada; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Donald, Ronald, and Kenneth (in infancy); and two sisters, Sharlene Schmidt and Pamela Clark.

A celebration of Sheila's life will be held at a later date.
