Sherry Sobotka, 57, of Ames, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Sherry was born April 16, 1950 in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Sheryl and Betty (Peterson) Lande. She attended school in Ames, Iowa. On December 28, 1969, Sherry was united in marriage to Dale Sobotka. She was a homemaker, but had also worked at Kiliper Corporation in Ames. Sherry loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the Home and Garden Channel. Due to her health, Sherry learned to appreciate a "Good-day." She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Ames, Iowa; 3 daughters: Kimberley (Mark) Mollhoff of Kansas, City, Missouri, Cindy (Danny) Rolph of Story City, Iowa, Heidi Terrones of Ames, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; her father, Sheryl Lande; and a sister: Connie Hopkins of Nevada, Iowa. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Betty, and a sister, Linda Ball.
