Obituary

Steven James Johnson, age 74, of Hubbard, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard. Born on September 1, 1951, in Nevada, Iowa, Steven was the son of James and Wilma Maxine (Wierson) Johnson.

Steven graduated from Radcliffe High School and went on to lead a fulfilling and varied career. He managed a fraternity at Iowa State University, worked as a talented hairstylist, and served as a cook at Bethany Manor. Throughout his life, Steven was a dedicated member of Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, where he found faith and fellowship.

Steven had a passion for baking, tending to flowers, and gardening. His love for entertaining brought joy to family and friends alike. He will be remembered for his warmth, creativity, and the many ways he brought people together.

Steven is survived by many relatives and friends that will deeply miss his presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilma Maxine Johnson.

A graveside service for Steven will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Radcliffe Cemetery in Radcliffe.  A reception will follow at the Radcliffe Community Room.
