Susan C. McPherson, 67 of Nevada, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Sue was born November 15, 1954, in Des Moines, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Lilly) McPherson. She graduated from Saydel High School and from Iowa Methodist Nursing School. Sue was a member of Cornerstone Church in Ames and enjoyed pressing wildflowers and making photos out of them. She also made bracelets and bookmarks. Sue had a special place in her heart for animals and loved her dogs: Jake, Cody and Shadow. Sue is survived by her nieces: Lisa Wysong, Hope (Gary) Kephart, Faith (Shawn) Anderson and Deb McPherson; her nephews: Scott McPherson and Scott Henderson; and her great-nieces: Jennifer Miller, Joey Crecca, Cari Manesis and Stephanie Chronley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda Gilson; and her brother, Stephen McPherson. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Cornerstone Church in Ames. Memorial contributions may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter in memory of Sue. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
