Mary Sue (Cable) Schlueter passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her home in Collins, Iowa.

Mary Sue (Cable) Schlueter was born July 10, 1947, to Arthur Jerome Cable and Irene (Duyree) Cable in Marshalltown, Iowa. She went to school and graduated from Colo in 1965. She worked at Goering Plumbing and City Supply. Sue retired in 1995.

Sue loved taking trips to the greenhouse to pick out beautiful flowers. She loved baking and cooking for family and friends. She also loved decorating and entertaining.

The biggest love in Susan's life was her family. She was united in marriage to Greg Schlueter in 1990.

Sue is survived by her husband Greg Schlueter, her sons: Don Gardner of Ankeny, IA and David Sampson (Nikki) of Winterset, IA; her daughter: Michelle Sampson of Post Falls, Idaho; her brothers Jerry Cable of Ames, IA and John Cable of Russellville, AR; her eleven grandchildren: Chantel Nicholson, Megan Menary, Donnie Gardner III, Breanna Gardner, McGwire Gardner, Josh Sampson, Colin Connors, Olivia Connors, Christopher Kirkwood, Nicole Waller, Courtney Katzarska, and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Norma Cable, her siblings: Doris, Dick, Sylvia, Bev, Jim, and Bob.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church (422 4th Street) in Colo with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Susan will be laid to rest at St. James Cemetery in Colo.
