Obituary

Ted Vier, 81, of Nevada, passed away in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa, after living a full and prosperous life. Ted was born November 24, 1933 in Lamar, Missouri, the son of Don and Lena (Whitchurch) Vier. He was united in marriage to Rosalie "Rose" Wanninger on January 23, 1960 in Montezuma, Iowa, and they moved to Nevada in 1964. Ted was co-0wner of V-H Construction in Nevada, Iowa, and worked hard all his life. Ted was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, and loved to fish. Ted cherished the time he could be with his grandkids that he loved so much. Ted is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Vier of Nevada, Iowa; his two sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Kari Vier of Castle Rock, Colorado, Kevin and Shelley Vier of Nevada, Iowa; and five grandchildren: Austin (Bethany) Vier of Nevada, Iowa, Riley (Kourtney) Vier of Iowa City, Iowa, Tyler Vier, Juliana and Olivia Vier, both of Castle Rock, Colorado. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Lee of Polo, Missouri; and a sister, Vera Jean Green of Moberly, Missouri. Ted requested no funeral or memorial services, but his kind, gentle spirit and humor lives on in all of us. Ted was surrounded by the love of his family in his last days as he passed on to be with the Lord. Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church of Nevada, Iowa. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is handling arrangements.
