Terry Lynn Landis, 79 of Ankeny, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home.   Terry was born January 31, 1942, in Iowa City, the son of Donald and Norma (Baker) Landis.  He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Ackerman on May 5, 1962, in Nevada.     Terry worked 36 years for Fareway Grocery Stores in Marshalltown, Nevada, Independence, Storm Lake and retired from the location in Osceola in 1995.  After retiring, they lived in Arkansas, Anita and Nevada before settling in Ankeny.   Terry enjoyed gardening, playing golf, antiques and refinishing furniture. He had a love for woodworking and made many lovely pieces of furniture. He especially loved using walnut.  Terry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Terry is survived by his wife, Mary of Ankeny; his son, Todd (Kristin) Landis of Ankeny; his daughters: Laura (William) Redfern of Osceola and Michelle (Tim) James of Adair; his grandchildren: Cory, Jake, Katie, Jessica, Jenna and Kelsie Landis, Taryn (Dakota) McKune, Morgan Hoadley (fiancé Robbie Burchartz), Margaret Redfern and Jennifer Redfern; London (Nick) Van Roekel and Macy James (fiancé Joseph Atwell); his great-grandchildren: Camara and Brooks Van Roekel; his brothers: Larry Landis of Hawaii, Tom (Cecelia) Landis of Nevada and Greg (Becky) Landis of Eldora; and his foreign exchange daughter, MariFe Cifuntes and her children Paula and Fernando of Linares, Spain.  He was preceded in death by his parents.   A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7.p.m. Friday, July 23 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (1110 11th Street) in Nevada.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24 also at the church with Father Rick Dagit officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Nevada.   Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rasmussonfh.com
