NEVADA - Thelma Irene Hicks, 88, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. Memorial Services will be at a later date. Thelma was born May 7, 1920 in Green City, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin and Belva (Price) Deeds. She married Darvin Hicks in Kirksville, Missouri on October 22, 1966. She worked as a drycleaner for FW Mens Commercial Laundry and R.H. Donnelley Corporation. Thelma enjoyed camping. Survivors include her husband, Darvin of Nevada; three sons: Jerry Fisher of Nevada, Allan Hicks of Nevada and Jerome Hicks of Boone; two daughters: Chris Galpin of Des Moines and Marliss Breeden of Altoona.; nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, one brother and one sister. Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
