Thongphoune Sengphirom, 70, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away peacefully at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa on December 17th, 2020. Thong is survived by her husband, Phouangphanh Sengphirom; daughters: Jade Robinson, Phetsavanh Sengphirom, and Taunny Mahoney; son: Tony Sengphirom; grandchildren: Amanda Sengphirom, Kirby Tran, Michael Mahoney, Briana Tran, KP Robinson, Andrew Tran, Donavanh Lipai, and Rosalie Sengphirom. Thong was born on May 1, 1950. In 1979, she was given an opportunity in Thailand that many did not have, to bring her family to the United States. With her husband, Phouang and four children, they would adjust to a new country, a new language, a new culture and a new life together. Through their determination and work ethic over those 40 years, they managed to create a success they could only dream about previously for their family. Thong was the most caring, loving, and altruistic person you could come across. She treated everyone like they were her own children. She always brought a smile wherever she went and always got one in return. She will be dearly missed by all. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 27th, 2021 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wat Lao Buddhavath, 1804 E.
