Travis (Trav) Wayne Heidemann, age 52, passed away in his home in Collins, Iowa on Saturday, February 29th, 2020. Travis was born October 31st, 1967 in Waterloo, Iowa to Robert (Bob) and Lenora (Kay) Heidemann. He was the youngest of four children and was a 1986 graduate of Collins-Maxwell High School. Travis loved to sing. His love of karaoke was legendary and his biggest enjoyment was singing something with meaning. He loved to hunt. He spent hours with friends and his son Matt hunting and trapping. He also loved to grill. His children called him the grill master for good reason. You could find him always adding something spicy to whatever was cooking and his hot sauce was never far from his chair. Travis worked hard his whole life. He spent time doing paver work and most recently worked in the ethanol and environmental services sector. Travis is survived by his mom and dad Bob and Kay Heideman; his children Matthew (Jessica) Heidemann, Jessica (Travis) Owens, and Hope Heidemann; grandchildren Lane Heidemann, Lyla Heidemann, and Kinley Owens; his sisters Jody Heidemann, Sheila Heidemann, and Tammy (Vernon) Bailey; along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many friends. Travis was much loved and that was shown by all who stepped in to help him over the last several months. A Celebration of Life for Travis will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 2-4 pm at the Maxwell Community Center in Maxwell, Iowa.
