Troy Mathew Anderson, 51, of Nevada passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Troy was born February 20, 1964, in Cresco, Iowa to Carlton James "CJ" and Lona Marie (Brown) Anderson. He graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, where he played trombone and sang in the choir. Troy attended the University of Minnesota and Wayne State before graduating from NEC in Des Moines. On October 5, 1985, he was united in marriage to Wendy Brodersen in Cedar Rapids. Troy had been a member of Indian Creek Country Club and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed boating, traveling, fishing and music. Troy is survived by his wife, Wendy of Nevada; his son, Cody Anderson of Nevada; his daughter, Chelsea Anderson of Ankeny; his sister, Janet (Ken) Platt of Birmingham, Michigan; and a half-sister, Kristin Polluch. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James "Jay" Anderson; and a sister, Karen Anderson. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 7 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 8, also at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Chapter of ALS Association. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
