Vernon Bauge, 78, of Huxley, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Vernon was born June 24, 1937, in Ames, to Abner and Ruby (Lee) Bauge. He was united in marriage to Shirley Groomes on March 25, 1966, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He had worked for International as a tractor mechanic and enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing and trapping and his collections of ammunition, traps and oil cans. Vernon is survived by his wife, Shirley of Huxley; and his brother, Kenneth (Sandra) Bauge of Huxley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Per his wishes, he has been cremated and no services are planned. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
