Victoria L. Harker (Vicki), 76, of Ames, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Private burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery near Cambridge.

Vicki was born to John W. and Betty Jo Harker in Des Moines, Iowa on November 6, 1948. She grew up on the family farm east of Cambridge and graduated from Ballard High School in 1966. Vicki attended Northwest Missouri State College and Iowa State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in education. She started a teaching career in grade school at Jefferson, Iowa and later received a master's degree from Drake University.

Her teaching career spanned 42 years in grade school at Jefferson, Iowa. After retiring, she moved to Ames to help take care of her mother. Vicki loved to watch and support ISU college football and basketball.

Vicki is survived by her brother John (Becky) Harker of Ames, nieces Brooke and Katherine Harker, Erin (Mike) Halverson, and nephew Justin (Ashley) Harker, great nieces Sidney and Delaney Halverson, and great nephews Jaxon and Jentry Harker.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Jo Harker, her younger brother Dan Harker and his wife Brenda, and nephew Matthew Harker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Society of Cambridge, Iowa in memory of Vicki.
