Violet "Vi" Elizabeth Smith, age 93, was born on January 8, 1932, in Rockwell City, IA the daughter of Joseph George and Vera Vivian (Brewer) Krebs. She passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Story County Senior Care in Nevada, IA.

Violet graduated from Nevada High School in 1950 and spent her life as a dedicated homemaker. Vi grew up Catholic but later in life found deep faith in reading the bible every day. She cherished spending time with her family and creating lasting memories that will be treasured by her loved ones.

Violet is survived by her children: Timm (Carla) Smith of Colo, Trudy (Jim) Wells of West Des Moines, Teresa (Dallas) Buck of Colo, and Thomas (Alicia) Smith of Colo; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with her nineth one on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Bonnie Fink, Josina Loomis, and Carmen Ferguson; and her brothers Vernon Krebs and David Krebs.

A private family graveside service and burial will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Nevada. Memorials may be given in her name to Story County Senior Care activities fund.
