NEVADA - Vivian Lucille Olson, 85, of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Vivian was born July 14, 1920, near Radcliffe, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Sadie (Osmundson) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Maynard Olson on June 13, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. Maynard preceded Vivian in death on January 28, 1985. Vivian graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1938. She had worked at R.H. Donnelly's in Nevada for 25 years and also at Collegiate Pacific for 5 years. Vivian was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg where she had been active in the Sunday School Program, and the Donnelly Retirement Club. Vivian lived for her children and grandchildren and was always there for them. She enjoyed baking kringla and cooking the Sunday dinner for the entire family. She was avid reader who enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Vivian is survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law: Vail (Sandy) Olson, Vincent (Sheryl) Olson, Mondell Olson, Marly (Fay) Olson, all of Nevada; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Valerie (James) Klein, Marcia (Mich) Tendall, both of Nevada; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Blanche Nessa of McCallsburg. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son: Maynard, Jr.; a grandson, Andy Klein; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Burial will be in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg. Visitation will be 3:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will be present 4:00 - 6:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vivian Olson Memorial fund. The Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
