Wade Jonathan Farthing, 50 of Nevada, died Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Wade was born January 31, 1972, in Ames, Iowa to Kip and Judy (Obenchain) Farthing. He grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1991. Wade attended DMACC and went onto earn his Industrial Plumbing License. Wade worked 25 years for ACI Mechanical. He loved his career and the opportunity to travel for work. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed attending many races across the country and watching the sport on TV.

Wade is survived by his parents, Kip and Judy Farthing of Nevada and his brother, Chad Farthing of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art and Evelyn Farthing and Claire and Gladys Obenchain.

A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th St, Nevada, IA) in Nevada. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Following the memorial service there will be a luncheon in the church's fellowship hall.
