Wade Allan Redix, 44 of Nevada, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Wade was born June 4, 1976, in Ames, the son of David Lee and Jane Marie (Ross) Redix. He attended Nevada High School and graduated from DMACC. Wade earned his A.A. from Kaplan University and while attending he was especially proud of making the Dean's and Presidents List.
Wade was a cook at many places including The Country House, Gumby's Pizza, Café Northwest, and Minsky's Pizza. He was a proud member of the NRA. In his younger years, he enjoyed trapping and fishing. He especially liked to cook, garden and recently took up woodworking.
Wade is survived by his mother, Jane (Gary) Evans of Nevada; his father, David Redix of Granger; his half-brother, Dean Redix of Ames; his niece, Riley Redix along with many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Zadie Ross; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Mildred Beal; and his beloved Border Collie, Seena.
A celebration of Wade's life will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at The Pavilion at Score Park (1543 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A visitation will follow the service until 3 p.m.
