Wayne Eide Halverson, 76, of Huxley passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Polk City Nursing and Rehab. Wayne was born December 5, 1935, to Halver and Belle (Eide) Halverson in Ames. He graduated from Huxley High School in 1953, and married Sharon Naber on April 3, 1965, in Kamrar, Iowa. Wayne was a member of Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley and enjoyed antique tractors. Wayne is survived by his son, Scott (Roberta) Halverson of Ankeny; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney (Andy), Devan, Garrett, Austin and McKena. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon; his son, Mark; six brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Palestine Lutheran Church, 1375 HWY 210, Huxley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, also at the church, with burial to follow at Palestine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
