Wilbert C. Hadley, 80, of Nevada died August 5, 2018 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A visitation will be held at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Funeral Home from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, August 8. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 9 at the Nevada Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada. Burial will follow in The Nevada Municipal Cemetery. He was born August 12, 1937 in Nevada to Milo and Helen (Binder) Hadley. He grew up on the farm in Milford Township and attended Milford Consolidated School, where he graduated in 1956. He was the oldest of two brothers. He later began working for John Deere. On April 19, 1970, he was united in marriage to Joyce Hornbacher to whom he spent 48 years with. They lived in California for a year before returning to the family farm where they spent the rest of their lives. On March 8, 1981, they adopted a son Timothy to join their family. Wilbert retired from Ryerson Implement in 2002 after 34 years as a master John Deere mechanic. Wilbert always had a deep passion for the family farm, The Milford School House where he graduated from, Oliver and Hart Parr tractors of which he collected many, and above all his grandchildren in his later years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Nevada; son, Timothy (Jenna) Hadley of Nevada; three grandsons, Connor Hadley, Trevor Hadley, and Tanner Hadley of Nevada; sister in law, Sue Hadley of Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Pete Hadley of Minnesota; and a nephew, Jon Hadley of Minnesota. Memorials may be directed to the family.
