NEVADA - William Alfred Boten, 56, of Nevada, died August 24, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. He was born September 26, 1948 in Ames, Iowa the son of Wayne Alfred and Linda Agnes (Dacey) Boten. During the Vietnam Era, William served in the US Air Force. He was a welder fabricator at the Animal Disease Lab in Ames. He liked to fix things and enjoyed staying busy with any project. He enjoyed taking short trips. He is survived by 2 sons: Jason Boten of Des Moines, Iowa, Raymond Boten of Collins, Iowa; a daughter: April Boten of Collins, Iowa; 2 grandchildren; his mother, Linda Agnes Babul of Nevada, Iowa; a brother: Wayne Boten, Jr. of Nevada, Iowa; and a sister: Donna Louise Karns of Great Falls, Montana. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Monday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
